Ciddi anlamda sinirlerimi bozdu. What the fcuk is that? Nella sublime poesia “Spesso il male di vivere ho incontrato” Eugenio Dep riesce a condensare in sei-righe-sei tutto il libro dell’ Inquietudine.

I recently saw in a toy shop window some objects that reminded me exactly of what these expressions are: However, there is another category where this book falls under. To see what your friends thought of this book, please sign up. The Flashes of contemplative brilliance amid a heap of desasoxiego intellectual masturbation. It took me a few months to read this, during that time my thoughts vacillated between brilliance and pure, unadulterated crap. I think it’s because i didn’t believe it.

This is not something I do lightly. Chapter 31, I felt, was brilliant. And though it took me a while to start to fall into step with it, I can still appreciate his ability to craft words and sentences.

Much overrated, in my view. How can I give this book four stars when there are such disagreeable elements? Pessoa invented mul The Book of Disquiet should be read slowly and ek, savored and sipped like fine wine.

These are all items which combined to draw me towards The Book of Disquiet when I found it in the middle of a stack on the floor in the wrong section of Bookman’s Corner.

In fact, I went through a sort of grieving process libor last time I lemmed a bookwhich was also the first time I had lemmed a book since I came to Goodreads. I don’t fantasise; I don’t imagine.

I also wrote a story that I placed in comment 1 in the thread. Future editors, as obsessed as they are with completionism, included more than the author intended sometimes depending on the version. It goes on to say that the book was originally started as having been written, though, by a completely different heteronym, but that the subsequent additions and revisions Pessoa made relegated this original character to nothing.

Pessoa is a master dissector of the soul, and its multi-faceted permutations, a paladin of negation and confirmation, dsasosiego harbinger of death and phoenixing. A better way to compare the sizes of different versions would be with word counts.

Ay Ay Ay Caramba. The Book of Disquiet is a revelation about a man similar to what I have just described above. It’s a book I find really interesting and am glad to know about and have on my shelf. And it would seem, judging from the reviews at Amazon, that people who like the book, are not happy with their lives. Discussion — The Book of Disquiet — Book as a whole. In order not to demean ourselves in our own eyes, it is enough that we should become accustomed to harbouring no ambitions, desasosieg, desires, hopes, impulses or feelings fernadno restlessness.

It’s not quite solipsistic, because the narrator acknowledges the existence of the outside world. He dreams about dreaming. This book consists of small fragments of thoughts, near pages worth, written by one of his personas, fernahdo who finds life so dreary that even his dreariness drears him.

Oh, and ignore the whining man curled up under the desk there. The cloud next to “dream,” you ask? This book isn’t bad. He is the only one who neither disguises nor deludes himself. Sometimes, finding a point of view that one can disagree with is just as valuable. He essentially invented multiple authors and wrote from their perspective.

If he does, then you would not be disappointed.

Quotes from Libro del desasos The love of absurdity and paradox is the animal happiness of the sad. Goodreads helps you keep track of books you want to read.

But, what if you do like it? There is already considerable duplication in the work.

What I can say, is that the concept alone initially struck me as mind-numbingly weird. Aloofness is not necessarily the hallmark of a formidable intellect. I demand nothing more from myself than to be a spectator of life. What I’m getting at here is that I have no idea what being a Symbolist means in the slightest. That would be worse than this.

An example and there are plenty: I can take that in doses, but Pessoa rubs your face in it.
